LG V30 units getting Android 8.0 Oreo update in Korea (v20e firmware)

LG V30 units in Korea have started receiving Android 8.0 Oreo v20e update today, if you own a LG V30 or LG V30+ then you are going to see the Oreo OTA update as version 20e on your device anytime soon. The company officially rolled out this Oreo update for LG V30 with an announcement, according to LG, “LG Electronics is the first Korean smartphone maker to upgrade its OS. It provides new fun and consumer experiences for existing LG V30 customers”.

Last month, LG Electronics has started “LG OS Preview” program, which allowed 500 users to taste the Oreo update before the final release, which helped the company to build more stable apps and Oreo OS by following users opinion. The Android 8.0 Oreo for LG V30 is released as version 20e a.k.a v20e, which is now rolling out via OTA in the Korean region, just hit Settings > About device > System updates to get the update via OTA manually.

The Android 8.0 Oreo brings loads of new features which include, Picture In Picture Mode, Notification dots, smart selection and improved battery life in the device. The Oreo update for LG V30 not only brings OS update but also also improves sound source LDAC that prevents sound loss.
