January Security update AAJ049 released for Verizon Blackberry Priv
A new firmware update is being rolled out to Verizon Blackberry Priv. The update carries January security patch along multiple improvements and bug fixes. The update is live via OTA, carries software version AAJ049 and it gonna knock at your device anytime soon. You can also manually check for the OTA, go to Settings > About device > Software updates, just wait for it until is shows you the notification telling that an OTA is waiting for you.
Verizon is rolling out security updates for multiple devices carrying Verizon tag, now Blackberry Priv is just another device to receive the AAJ049 security update for the month of January. You need to charge your device to a safe level, say 70% to avoid shutting down during installation process. Since these updates are important for the device security to it is always recommended to keep your device up to date regarding firmware updates.
