How to install custom ROM via TWRP (ported ROM, Lineage OS, CyanogenMod and other)

Follow the detailed instructions to install any custom ROM via TWRP custom recovery. We have posted this guide for the users who wish to install ported ROM as well as any custom ROM on their device but don’t exactly know the process to install it. So if you are one of them then you have landed on the right place, if you are about to install Lineage OS ROM on your device then follow this guide. If you have downloaded any CyanogenMod based custom ROM on your device then you should follow this guide to install it, go ahead for the installation process below if you wish to install ported ROM on your device.

How to install custom ROM via TWRP

Before you begin:

A working TWRP recovery must be installed on your Android device or follow this guide to install it || For Samsung devices follow this guide.

Create a Nandroid back up of existing ROM on your device, follow this guide.

Your phone should be charged minimum 70%.

Process to install custom ROM via TWRP recovery

Step 1: Download the ROM zip along other necessary files and transfer them on phone’s storage.

Step 2: Now boot your device into TWRP recovery mode either by hardware key combination or any third party app. (If you own a Samsung device follow these instructions to boot it into recovery mode).

Step 3: Once your device boots into TWRP recovery, perform ‘factory data reset’ and swipe the slider from left to right to confirm.

Step 4: Now go back to make menu, tap ‘install’ and then choose the custom ROM zip file you transferred earlier in step 1.

Step 5: Confirm the installation process by swiping across the slider. The installation process will begin and wait for it till it gets completely installed on your device.

Step 6: Once done with the flashing process of both files, hit Wipe cache/dalvik option and confirm it.

Step 7: Now it’s time to reboot your device.
