Thanks to developers at Chainfire for delivering their popular root package that let’s you easily root your device on any firmware. Now we are about to discuss the detailed root process to root Verizon Note 5 SM-N920V on Android 7.0 Nougat via CF-Auto-Root and Odin.
Note: Verizon Note 5 N920V can be easily rooted via Chainfire’s Auto root package, rooting your device requires flashing the CF-Auto root package via Odin so the process is almost same for every Samsung device. We don’t need to change it for every device, we have already followed the same process for other Galaxy devices as well.

Before you begin:
Your device must be charged minimum 60% to avoid shut down during process.

Enable USB Debugging. Go to Settings > Developer options > USB Debugging

Download and install the latest USB drivers for Samsung on PC. Click here
Download latest Odin 3.12.3. Click here

Process to root Nougat on Verizon Note 5 N920V via Odin
Turn off your phone completely.
Now reboot your device into Download Mode, to do so follow this guide.
Once in download Mode, follow this guide to flash the CF-Auto-root package via Odin.
