Update Android 8.1 Oreo beta on Xiaomi Mi A1 [OPM1.171019.019.8.4.9]

Xiaomi has started rolling out Android 8.1 Oreo update for Xiaomi Mi A1 via beta channel. This update seems to be landing as build OPM1.171019.019.8.4.9 that is rolling out via OTA, a lucky user who has received the update also shared the screenshots as well. The update is available through beta channel only for the users who have previously enrolled in the beta program. The update also packs in latest security patch for the month of April 2018 and goodies of Android 8.1 Oreo.

Android 8.1 comes with numerous changes over the Android 8.0. The update brings light and dark theme that changes according to wallpaper, Pixel 2 Launcher, Redesigned Power Menu, new Shutdown and Reboot Animation, Round Status bar Icons, and Settings. Android 8.1 Oreo is now live for the Xiaomi Mi A1 users who are running Android Oreo via beta channel.

Once you install the Oreo update on your device you will get a bunch of new features including native features from Android Oreo, Picture in Picture mode, adaptive icons, autofill, notification dots, quick boot and more. Other goodies include latest security update for the month of April 2018. If you thing your device is running Android 8.0 Oreo firmware then head to settings > About device sections > System updates. If the above method doesn’t gets successful then it means the update has not landed for your region, but still you can keep trying until it becomes available.
