Samsung Galaxy A5 (2016 and 2017) Gets February Security Patch
Samsung has started rolling out latest monthly security updates for Galaxy A5 2016 and Galaxy A5 2017. The update brings February 2018 security patch for both Galaxy A5 2016 and Galaxy A5 2017, that arrives as build A510FXXU5CRB2 for Galaxy A5 2016 and A520FXXU4BRB1 for Galaxy A5 2017. The February 2018 patch fixes some critical bugs and brings fixes for the “Meltdown and Spectre” vulnerability. Great news is that you can download and install February 2018 security patch for Galaxy A5 2016 and 2017 via Kies and Odin.
How to install February 2018 patch update on Galaxy A5 via OTA, Kies and Odin
The update doesn’t increments the OS version, still it stays on Android 7.0 Nougat but this is an important update to install. How to install February 2018 patch for Galaxy A5 via Odin
Early preparations:
Your device should be charged 70% at minimum to avoid shutting down during the process.
Enable USB Debugging. Go to Settings > Developer Options > Enable USB debugging
Back up your important data.
Download Odin tool 3.12.3 from this link
Download the latest USB drivers for Samsung from this link and then install them on PC.
Process to install latest update on Galaxy A5
