After months of rumors and leaks, Google finally unveiled it’s second generation Pixel devices which includes Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL in “Made by Google” event on Oct 4 in San Francisco. The Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL both devices are the successors of last year Pixel and Pixel XL, search giant also launched it’s other products including Google Home Mini, Home Max and Pixel Book in the same event.

Google Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL feature two different sizes, Pixel 2 comes with a 5.0 inches full HD OLED display with normal bezel like last year’s Pixel phone yet Pixel 2 XL features a giant 6.0 inches QHD OLED display supporting a resolution of 2880×1440 and edge to edge display trimmed at edges. The bezel less trend has now become common if you like the traditional bezel style phone then go for Pixel 2 while for a bezel less design Pixel 2 XL is a best option.
Another great thing about Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL is that both devices support squeezable edges, which means you can now squeeze the edge of Pixel 2 or Pixel 2 XL to launch Google assistant. Google Pixel 2 is manufacturer by Taiwanese manufacturer HTC while Pixel 2 XL by LG Electronics.

Under the hood both Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL feature same hardware specifications except screen size and battery. Both Pixel devices are equipped with Snapdragon 835 chispet along 4GB of RAM on board and 64GB/128GB variants. Pixel 2 XL is powered by 3520mAh battery and Pixel 2 is having a 2700mAh battery enough to fulfill the requirements of it’s hardware, both devices support fast charging and USB Type C Port but no headphone jack.
In the optics department Google has worked a lot to bring brilliance to it’s camera quality. Google has put a single lens 12MP camera f/1.8 aperture on the rear and a front 8MP selfie shooter on the front, Google has made a variety of changes and added new features to the camera segment. Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL now support, dual pixel sensor with OIS and EIS for photos and videos, other goodies include laser auto focus and advanced phase detection.

The Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL will be running Android 8.0 Oreo out of the box and Google also promised to release software updates for the next three years. The Google Pixel 2 units fully support Google lens with redesigned Homescreen UI and much more.

If you are serious about buying any of the latest devices, then pre-orders have been started in US already. The Pixel 2 64GB costs $649 and Pixel 2 XL 64GB variant costs around $849 and 128GB model for $949. The shipment will start from Oct 19.
