Download OxygenOS 4.1.6 for OnePlus 3 [Android 7.1.1 Nougat]

Chinese manufacturer OnePlus has withdrawn the Oxygen OS 4.1.5 update earlier released for OnePlus 3 and OnePlus 3T. It was announced that the update faced some major bugs after roll out and then the company halted the update. Yet today OnePlus rolled out Android OxygenOS 4.1.6 update for both devices, the update bring multiple tweaks and improvements in over all firmware that you can see in the change log below.

In this guide we’ll guide you to download Android 7.1.1 Nougat based OxygenOS 4.1.6 for OnePlus 3. If you are running OxygenOS 4.1.3 then you are eligible for receiving the OTA update. The update is also live via OTA, follow the update via Settings > About device > System updates and perform a software update check. If you receive the OTA notification then download and install it on your device else you can follow the guide mentioned below to update OxygenOS 4.1.6 on OnePlus 3 via adb sideload. We have used the similar method for previous updates as well and now we are going to follow the same process.

How to install OxygenOS 4.1.6 OTA on OnePlus 3

Download and install latest USB drivers on PC. Here

Set up adb-fastboot drivers on PC by following this guide.

Process to install OxygenOS 4.1.6 OTA on OnePlus 3 via ADB-Sideload

Download the OxygenOS 4.1.6 OTA for OnePlus 3 and transfer the downloaded zip file in a specific folder.

Now open the same folder press Shift+Right Click on any empty area in the folder then choose ‘Open command window here’.

Issue the following command to reboot your device into recovery mode

adb reboot recovery

Once in recovery mode, select ‘Install from USB’ and then type the following command to start the adb sideload process.

adb sideload ota.zip

The installation process will start and wait for it to complete. Once the process is completed simply type

fastboot reboot

That’s it! You have now latest Nougat based OxygenOS 4.1.6 installed on your OnePlus 3.
