The company rolled out Oreo beta 1 update last month and now it is seeding Oreo beta 2 update for Essential Phone PH-1 as build OPM1.170911.213 that costs in 142MB. The update brings improvements and fixes the broken features that were in the previous beta update, some of the improvements that Essential Team has mentioned on it’s website are, Android Auto and OEM Bluetooth Car Kit Interoperability Improvements, Data tracking issues for certain U.S Carriers, Setup Assistant screen cutoff issues due to status bar Further Treble support, Battery life improvements, LED notification and charging behavior.

Enable USB Debugging on Essential Phone.

A Working USB Cable is required.

Process to install OPM1.170911.213 Oreo beta 2 OTA on Essential Phone

Download the OPM1.170911.213 Oreo beta 2 zip for Essential Phone and transfer the downloaded zip file in a specific folder.

Now open the same folder press Shift+Right Click on any empty area in the folder then choose ‘Open command window here’.

Issue the following command to reboot your device into recovery mode

adb reboot recovery

Once in recovery mode, select ‘Install from USB’ and then type the following command to start the adb sideload process.

adb sideload ota.zip

The installation process will start and wait for it to complete. Once the process is completed simply type

fastboot reboot
