AT&T releases October security patch for S7 Active along Galaxy S6 family and Note 5
A bunch of Samsung Galaxy devices on AT&T network are now receiving latest firmware updates by AT&T. The bunch includes Galaxy S7, Galaxy S6, S6 Edge, S6 Edge Plus and Note 5, all on AT&T network. The update are released individual for each device carrying separate build number, the Galaxy S6 is getting the update as build G920AUCS6EQJ1, s6 edge receives G925AUCS6EQJ2, build G928AUCS4EQJ1 for S6 Edge Plus, N920AUCS4EQJ1 for AT&T Note 5 and build G891AUCS2BQJ4 for S7 Active.

All the updates are rolling out over-the-air and install the October Android security patch with fixes for KRACK Wi-Fi vulnerability and under the hood improvements. All the updates are based on Android 7.0 Nougat so it doesn’t increments the OS version, Oreo for latest flagships S8 and S8 plus is already in the testing stage so you might expect the stable build release by the next year’s start. Once S8 and S8 Plus gets the update ,the remaining devices will start getting it later.
We have defined two methods for updating your device on latest firmware which includes OTA and Kies update method. The carrier bonded device especially doesn’t shares it’s firmware tar file easily like other carriers do, so we recommend you to get the update via Kies.
