September security patch NPN26.118-22-2 released for Moto Z Play

Moto Z Play units are now receiving September security patch with Blueborne fix via an update. The update is now rolling out via retin, retbr and retapac software channels in India, Brazil and Hong Kong. If you own Moto Z Play and living in the above mentioned regions then you’ll be getting the update anytime soon, the update arrives as build NPN26.118-22-2 which is based on Android 7.1.1 Nougat.

The September security patch for Moto Z Play resolves multiple critical vulnerabilities in the firmware. You can download the update via OTA but remember to charge your device at minimum 60% to avoid shutdown during the process and also set up a working internet connection to download the update. It is always recommended to keep your device updated regarding firmware updates.

Head to Settings > About device > System updates.
