OxygenOS 3.5.6 for OnePlus 2 released, addressing Network issue

OnePlus 2 recently received OxygenOS 3.5.6 update packed with multiple fixes and more. The OxygenOS 3.5.6 is an update to OxygenOS 3.5.5 released a day ago for OnePlus 2, overall it was a great update but a little glitch started arising after installation. While using your OnePlus 2 the device continuously started dropping signal many time, so OnePlus addressed this issue in this OxygenOS 3.5.6 update.

The Marshmallow based OxygenOS 3.5.6 update has also brought improvements in over all firmware, some of the new features that we have seen in the previous update are also mentioned in the OxygenOS 3.5.6 change log are, added VoLTE functionality, battery saving mode, redesigned volume adjuster, fixed network drop, redesigned clock UI and more that you can see in the screenshot.

If you are already running OxygenOS 3.5.5 then you are going to receive the OxygenOS 3.5.6 update anytime soon. But if you are getting impatient for the update then we have mentioned the procedure to flash OxygenOS 3.5.6 manually using adb side load method. OnePlus 2 will taste the Nougat update in the coming months as OnePlus is still testing the Nougat firmware for it’s devices.

Update OxygenOS 3.5.6 OTA on OnePlus 2 via adb sideload

Install ADB-Fastboot drivers on your PC.

Download OxygenOS 3.5.6 OTA zip for OnePlus 2 and rename it to a convinient name as ota.zip

Turn off your device and reboot it into recovery mode.

Once in recovery mode, choose ‘install from USB’

Now press Shift+Right Mouse Click on any empty space inside the folder where you have placed the download oxygenOS 3.5.6 OTA zip file and choose ‘Open command window here’.

Now type the following command to start the installation process,

adb-sideload ota.zip

Wait for the process to complete.

Once the process is completed then type the follow command to reboot your device.

fastboot reboot
