Nokia 5 gets its first Oreo beta update as version 5.140

HMD Global just released Android 8.0 Oreo beta build for Nokia 5 via its beta labs program. If you have already register for the program then you might be receiving the Oreo beta V5.140 for Nokia 5 anytime now. The Oreo beta 5.140 update for Nokia 5 brings all the stock features from Android 8.0 Oreo including faster app installation time, Picture-in-Picture, auto fill texts, notification dots, new emojis, latest security patches for the month of December and more.

According to Juho Sarvikas, chief product officer at HMD Global, “Android Oreo for Nokia 5 has landed on Nokia phones beta labs! Android has never tasted sweeter. What’s more, Android 8.0 Oreo beta for Nokia 6 is coming soon!”.

The other products including Nokia 6 and Nokia 3 will be eligible for beta labs program soon. Note: Once you get registered with the Beta program but later you decided not to take Oreo beta until it gets stable you can simply de-register yourself from the program to stay on the Nougat firmware.
