Nexus 6 getting Android 7.1.1 Nougat update

Finally after a long wait stable Android 7.1.1 Nougat update rolls out for Nexus 6 owners. The Nexus 6 was released back in 2014 but still getting latest firmware updates head to head like modern Nexus and Pixel phones. Today it is getting Android 7.1.1 Nougat upgrade from Android 7.0, if you own a Nexus 6 just head to Settings > About phone section and firmware updates.

The Android 7.1.1 Nougat update for Nexus 6 is not rolling out for the first time infact Google already provided Android 7.1.1 Nougat update to Nexus 6 back in March along other devices. The update was later pulled out because of some critical bug found on the firmware and users who were expecting Android 7.1.1 upgrade remained on Android 7.0 Nougat.

Nexus 6 gets Android 7.1.1 Nougat update

Finally it seems Google has fixed the issues on the firmware and released the stable Android 7.1.1 Nougat build for awaited Nexus 6 owners. The update weighs around 368MB that also brings multiple improvements, bug fixes to ensure stability in the firmware. The update is live via OTA and we will also post guide to update Nexus 6 on Android 7.1.1 Nougat update manually.
