Moto Z gets stock Android 7.1.1 Nougat NPL26.118-20 update via retapac in Hong Kong

Motorola started rolling out official Android 7.1.1 Nougat update for Moto Z in Hong Kong. The stock Android 7.1.1 for Moto Z is released via “retapac” software channel, arrives as build number NPL26.118-20 the update lands via OTA. The Android 7.1.1 Nougat update for Moto Z also brings in July security patch along multiple new features and some improvements in over all firmware.

Once you install the Nougat Android 7.1.1 on your device, you can access the Split screen feature, Moto Mods platform updated to version 2, improve stability and Google Duo video calling support.

Download and install Android 7.1.1 Nougat NPL26.118-20 on Moto Z

Before you begin:

Your device should be charged minimum 60% to avoid shut down during the process.

Process to install Android 7.1.1 Nougat on Moto Z

Download the Android 7.1.1 Nougat NPL26.118-20 OTA for Moto Z and transfer the downloaded zip file in a specific folder.

Open the same folder press Shift+Right Click on any empty area in the folder then choose ‘Open command window here’.

Now connect your device to PC.

Type the following command to reboot your device into recovery mode

adb reboot recovery

Once in recovery mode, select ‘Install from USB’ and then type the following command to start the adb sideload process.

adb sideload filename.zip

The installation process will start and wait for it to complete. Once the process is completed simply type

fastboot reboot

That’s it! You have now latest NPL26.118-20 Android 7.1.1 Nougat installed on your Moto Z.
