January 2018 patch NPSS25.137-93-4 for Moto G5 Plus is released!

Alongside Moto G4 Plus, Moto G5 Plus owners in Brazil are now receiving a new system update from Motorola. The update is arriving as build NPSS25.137-93-4, that installs January 2018 security patch and also brings some minor improvements in the firmware to enhance stability. The January 2018 security update for Moto G5 Plus brings fix for KRACK Wi-Fi exploit and other security improvements.

It is always recommended to keep your device on latest firmware because new updates bring new features and security improvements on the device. Lets us tell you OTA update process works on stock un-rooted devices only, otherwise you have to install the firmware manually RSD Lite, stock recovery or via fastboot commands.

Before you begin:

Your device should be charged minimum 60% to avoid shut down during the process.

Ensure your device is not rooted.

Now go to Settings > About Phone > System updates.

In System updates give a manual software update check, the device will connect to the Motorola servers for checking the OTA if available.

You will be notified if the update is available, just download and then press install to install it on your device.
