Install TWRP and Root OnePlus 5 on Android Oreo

Not only this but we will also guide you to install TWRP Recovery on OnePlus 5 running Android 8.0 Oreo. Developer have managed to developed a compatible TWRP Recovery for OnePlus 5 running Android Oreo along root process.

OnePlus 5 first got Android 8.0 Oreo as OxygenOS Open beta updates via the beta channel then stable Android Oreo rolled out for this device. This is major update that upgrades the OS from Android 7.1.1 Nougat to Android 8.0 Oreo, which brings all the goodies of stock Oreo update for the device.

Before you begin:

Charge your device battery above 70%, to avoid shut down during the process.

Download and install latest OnePlus drivers on PC. Download here

Install ADB & Fastboot drivers on PC, follow this guide to install the adb-fastboot drivers within 15 seconds.

Unlock bootloader on OnePlus 5, follow this guide to unlock bootloader on OnePlus 5.

Enable USB debugging on your device. Go to Settings > Developer options > USB debugging.

If you can’t see the Developer options in settings menu, then you need to enable them. Go to Settings > About device > Tap the build number 7 times until it says ‘You are now a Developer’.
