Droid Edition Moto Z/Moto Z Force getting May security patch [NCL25.86-11.4]

Droid Edition Moto Z and Moto Z Force units are getting latest software updates from Verizon. The update is based on Android 7.0 Nougat comes as software version NCL25.86-11.4, carries April or May security patch (Yet to confirm whether it’s April or May patch) along other minor improvements and bug fixes. The last update was released by the end of March that also installed March security patch so, it is possible that the update carries May security patch.

The update seems a minor update but it is always recommended to keep your device updated regarding security updates. The OTA is now live as we speak, first give a try for the OTA, go to Settings >> About device >> Firmware Updates. Keep your device charged well to avoid shutting down during downloading or installing the update on your device. Below we have posted the manual update method, that includes installing NCL25.86-11.4 update via stock recovery.

Install NCL25.86-11.4 update on Verizon Moto Z/Moto Z Force via recovery

Step 1: Connect your device with PC and move the firmware file on your device
Step 2: Reboot into recovery mode and select apply update from SD card.
Step 3: Choose the firmware file and Select yes.
Step 4: The process is now started and wait for it to complete.
