Download & Install NPG05D Android 7.1.2 Nougat on Nexus Player, Pixel C, Nexus 5X, 6P

This tutorial is about flashing Android 7.1.2 Nougat update on Google’s Pixel C, Nexus Player, Nexus 6P and Nexus 5X. Google has officially released Android 7.1.2 Nougat beta builds for supported Nexus and Pixel devices. In the previous article we have posted the process to flash the Android 7.1.2 Nougat update on Pixel devices. Now following the same process we’ll install the update on Nexus 6P, Nexus 5X, Pixel C and Nexus Player.

The Android 7.1.2 Nougat carries build number NPG05D, packed with multiple improvements and bug fixes in the Nougat build because it’s a maintenance release and further you can see the improvements once it is installed on the device. The update for Nexus 6P is delayed and will be released later while the rest of devices are eligible for the update right at moment. You can get the Android 7.1.2 OTA but first you need to get registered for the Android Beta Program, after that you will receive the OTA in a few days.

How to install NPG05D Android 7.1.2 Nougat on Nexus Player, Pixel C

Before you begin:

  • Your device must be charges atleast 70% to avoid shut down during the process.
  • Your device bootloader should be unlocked or follow this guide to unlock it.

Process to install NPG05D Android 7.1.2 Nougat on Pixel C and Nexus Player

Now reboot your device into fastboot/bootloader mode. To do so, turn of your device completely then press and hold the Volume down + Power buttons simultaneously until your device boots into fastboot mode.

Now head towards the installation page to see the further installation process.
