December update for Verizon Moto Z/Z Force is released[NCLS26.118-23-13-6-1]
It’s February 9 but still Motorola devices are getting KRACK fix December security update from the manufacturer. The 2016 flagships Moto Z and Moto Z Force bonded with Verizon are now getting a new system update carrying December security patch along fix for KRACK Wi-Fi vulnerability. The December patch for Verizon Moto Z/Z Force is released as build NCLS26.118-23-13-6-1. If you own a Verizon Moto Z/Z Force then you might be getting the OTA anytime now depends on the regional delays. Read more to see instruction to install the update.
First go for the manual OTA check that is the super easy process, head to Settings > About phone > System update. Check for new available system updates if available else go for manually installation process below.
Update NCLS26.118-23-13-6-1 December Patch on Verizon Moto Z/Z Force
Before you begin:
Your device should be charged minimum 60% to avoid shut down during the process.
Latest USB drivers for Motorola should be installed on PC. Here
Set up adb and fastboot drivers. Follow this quick guide
Process to install NCLS26.118-23-13-6-1 December update on Verizon Moto Z/Z Force
Download the December OTA for Verizon Moto Z/Z Force and transfer the downloaded zip file in a specific folder.
Open the same folder press Shift+Right Click on any empty area in the folder then choose ‘Open command window here’.
Now connect your device to PC.
Type the following command to reboot your device into recovery mode
adb reboot recovery
Once in recovery mode, select ‘Install from USB’ and then type the following command to start the adb sideload process.
adb sideload filename.zip
The installation process will start and wait for it to complete. Once the process is completed simply type
fastboot reboot
That’s it! You have now latest December patch installed on your Verizon Moto Z/Z Force.
