August security patch rolled out for Nexus and Pixel devices [Download]

Google has rolled out latest monthly security updates for it’s Nexus and Pixel phones. The new update installs August security patch on the device and also brings improvement and bug fixes in the firmware. The updates are available as OTA’s and factory images, arriving as build NHG47Q for Verizon Pixel/Pixel XL, NZH54D is for Pixel phones bonded with Deutsche Telekom, NKG47S for T-Mobile and Rogers users, while NJH47F is for global variants. The Pixel C gets build N2G48C.

In Nexus line, the update is based on Android 7.1.2 Nougat available as build N2G48C for Nexus 6P/Nexus 5X and Nexus Player gets build N2G48C. The remaining two devices Nexus 6 and Nexus 9 get the update as build N8I11B and N4F27K/N9F27H, which is based on Android 7.1.1 Nougat.

How to install August Security update on Nexus and Pixel devices

Before you begin:

  • Your device must be charges atleast 70% to avoid shut down during the process.
  • Your device bootloader should be unlocked or follow this guide to unlock it.
