AT&T LG K10 gets October security patch with KRACK fix

AT&T is seeding a new OTA for AT&T LG K10 that brings updated security patch along loads of improvements. The new OTA arrives as build K42520f which once installed on the device, updates the security patches on October 2017 and brings in fix for KRACK Wi-Fi vulnerability. The OS stays on Android 7.0 Nougat and is live via OTA, so if you own AT&T LG K10 K425 running stock firmware without root then your device is eligible for Over The Air updates.

What is KRACK WiFi vulnerability?

KRACK Wi-Fi vulnerability stands for Key Re installation Attack, which attacks and hack the WiFi Protected Access 2 (WPA2). Once the WPA2 security is hacked it decrypts traffic, connection hijacking and can easily exposes the communication over the WPA2-enabled device.

The OTA carrying build number K42520f is now live OTA but you may get the update in a few days depending on the region. But you can head to settings > About device section > Choose firmware update and perform an update check. You will get the update notification once your device connects to LG servers, get a good WiFi connection to download the update. Also charge your battery to 60% for a safe installation without shut down issue.
