Xperia X receives 38.3.A.0.94 concept update [Ambient display feature]

Sony has released latest concept update for Xperia X, the update brings Ambient Display features along multiple improvements in over all firmware. The Xperia X Concept update is based on Android 7.1.1 Nougat and carries software version 38.3.A.0.94 with January security update.

The Ambient display feature can be enabled in Display Settings, once you enable it on your device, your device will light up for a few second upon receiving any new notification. The same feature that we have seen in the AOSP Lollipop ROMs.

The update also carries other improvements as well, the camera view finder will automatically adjust the brightness of display independent of current brightness. Some other issues are addressed like Bluetooth audio issue while using “OK Google” voice commands and LED notification lights.

The 38.3.A.0.94 update for Xperia X is rolling out via OTA and weighs about 40MB, so go to Settings > About device > Software updates. If the firmware is available simply tap download and let it install itself else grab the 38.3.A.0.94 ftf and flash it manually. We will soon upload it here so stay tuned.
