Verizon Moto Z updated with December security patch

Verizon started seeding Motorola’s 2016 flagship Moto Z with the latest monthly security update in the US. The update that arrives as build NDNS26.118-23-12-7 that brings December security patch a few tweaks and bug fixes. This is not an incremental update, it’s a minor security fix update that updates security patch and brings minor improvements and under the hood bug fixes.

Moto Z is also an awaited candidate for Android 8.0 Oreo, where last month Oreo Soak test for Moto Z was released, the release of stable Oreo update for Moto Z will happen soon. You need to stay on the latest OS update released by the manufacturer because on one side it is great for the security of device and on the other side if your device stays updated with the latest firmware then you might receive any newer OS update directly on your device.

You can download the December security update for Verizon Moto Z via OTA but remember to charge your device at minimum 60% to avoid shutdown during the process and also set up a working internet connection to download the update. It is always recommended to keep your device updated regarding firmware updates. The NDNS26.118-23-12-7 OTA has landed already just go to Settings > About device > System updates.
