update t-mobile S4 M919 on stock KitKat M919UVSFQA1 firmware [feb security patch]

The older Galaxy S4 bonded with T-Mobile is now getting a latest update from it’s carrier. The T-Mobile Galaxy S4 model SGH-M919 is receiving the latest security patch for Feb 2017, carrying build number M919UVSFQA1 stays on Android 4.4.4 KitKat and rolls out via OTA. Although Galaxy S4 is too old to receive the newer firmware updates but these are security updates to enhance device security against Viruses and Malware so it is always recommended to stay regular in installing new firmware on your device. The update is now rolling out via OTA but if you haven’t received the OTA due to any reason if your device is rooted or the OTA hasn’t landed in your region then you need to follow the Odin method.

We have mentioned the complete process along M919UVSFQA1 tar file for your ease, just grab the firmware and flash it manually via Odin. The stock KitKat firmware can be updated via Kies as well, but we recommend you try the OTA update first, go to Settings > About device > Check software updates. We have posted the same tutorial for the Galaxy S7 update so the process remains the same because it has nothing to do with the change build number or Android version, all you need is an Odin tool along the firmware tar and a PC with latest Samsung USB drivers installed on it.
