How to install TWRP recovery on Xperia XZ1

Download TWRP Recovery for Xperia XZ1 – Download. (Rename it to twrp.img)

Download Kernel Port For Xperia XZ1 by aleddom.

Save the downloaded files in a new folder on your PC.

Download and install latest USB drivers for your Android device or follow this guide.

ADB and Fastboot drivers must be installed on your device or follow this guide to install them.

Once done with the above listed tasks now it’s time to flash TWRP recovery on your device via fastboot.

Process:

Copy the downloaded TWRP recovery image file in a new folder on your PC and rename the file into simple name like “twrp.img”.

It’s the time to open the folder where you have saved TWRP recovery img along other files above.

Now inside the same folder open a command windows, to do so, press Shift + Right mouse click at the same time and then choose the “Open command window here” option from the context menu.

In the black command window type the following command to boot your device into fastboot/bootloader mode.

adb reboot bootloader

Your device will reboot into bootloader mode, now type these commands one after the other to flash the TWRP recovery on your device.

fastboot flash recovery twrp.img

fastboot flash boot boot.img

fastboot flash FOTAKernel boot.img

The TWRP recovery is now being installed on your device and once it becomes successful then type the following command to reboot your device.

Download the Magisk Zip from this link.

Connect your device to PC and copy the downloaded Magisk zip on the internal storage of your device.
