Manually update G850AUCS1BOC8 firmware on AT&T Galaxy Alpha G850A via OTA, Kies or Odin

AT&T Galaxy Alpha is getting Android 5.0.2 Lollipop based new security update from AT&T. The update is carrying build number G850AUCS1BOC8, brings multiple improvements in over all too. If you are already on the UCS1BOC7 firmware released previously then you are going to hear the OTA update notification knock anytime soon. The update weighs 385MB and you can also update your device via Samsung Kies, we have mentioned the process below.

The AT&T Galaxy Alpha model G850A is not going to get Marshmallow firmware except these security updates, although the device is equipped with powerful hardware enough to run the Marshmallow firmware smoothly. Well that could be possible via AOSP Marshmallow builds available via custom ROMs. The G850AUCS1BOC8 stock Nougat firmware can be updated via Kies as well, but we recommend you try the OTA update first, go to Settings > About device > Check software updates.

We have posted the same tutorial for the S7 firmware because the process for firmware updates on Samsung devices remains the same it has nothing to do with the change build number or Android version, all you need is an Odin tool along the firmware tar and a PC with latest Samsung USB drivers installed on it. You can also greet the new firmware using Samsung Kies as well, here we have posted a guide to update firmware via Kies.
