Before you begin:

Download the modded TWRP [rename the file to simple, i,e recovery.img]

Download SuperSU

Download SuperSu Config

Download SuHide

Set up adb and fastboot drivers on PC. Follow this guide

Process to root Google Pixel XL on Android 8.0 Oreo

Connect your Pixel XL to PC and transfer the above downloaded SuperSu, SuperSuConfig and SuHide to internal storage of device.

Boot your device into bootloader mode or simply type ‘adb reboot bootloader’ in the command window with your device stay connected to PC.

Now you need to boot into TWRP by typing the following command

“fastboot boot recovery.img”

Once in recovery then flash SuperSuConfig zip, then choose add more zips and choose SuperSU.

You need to choose Systemless SBIN option in the Aroma installer for SuperSuConfig. [let SuperSu decide]

Now boot up the system and then reboot into bootloader mode and again boot into TWRP recovery.

This time flash remaining SuHide zip and reboot your device.
