Samsung is rolling out February security patch update for it’s previous flagships Galaxy S6/S6 Edge global variants. The update for Galaxy S6 model G920F is based on stock Marshmallow based G925FXXU5DQAJ firmware, carrying February security patch along multiple improvements and bug fixes. The update doesn’t seems to be a major update for your device but it has a lot to do with the device security so it is necessary to keep your device updated regarding firmware updates. The Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge will soon receive the Nougat update as we can see on a benchmarking website where the S6 Active and S6 Edge Plus running on stock Android 7.0 Nougat update.
We have mentioned the complete process along G925FXXU5DQAJ tar file for your ease, just grab the firmware and flash it manually via Odin. The stock Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow firmware on Galaxy S6 Edge G925F can be updated via Kies as well, but we recommend you try the OTA update first, go to Settings > About device > Check software updates. We have posted the same tutorial for the Galaxy S7 update so the process remains the same because it has nothing to do with the change build number or Android version, all you need is an Odin tool along the firmware tar and a PC with latest Samsung USB drivers installed on it.
