Download HTC U11’s October security patch 1.28.617.30 RUU

HTC U11 units have started getting October security patch from it’s manufacturer. The update is arriving as build 1.28.617.30 which installs security patch for the month of October 2017 dated as Oct 01, 2017. This is a minor update released to improve security along under the hood improvements and bug fixes.

The update is now live via OTA but fortunately we have the download link for 1.28.617.30 RUU for those users who were not able to install the update via OTA. We recommend you to get the update as soon as possible because these updates deal the exposures and vulnerabilities.

Before going ahead prepare for the following things:

Charge your device to minimum 70% to avoid shut down during the installation process.

Make sure your device is not rooted with stock recovery installed on it.

The October security patch 1.28.617.30 firmware for HTC U11 is only available via OTA as the moment. If you haven’t received the OTA update yet, call it in by going to Settings > About device > System updates. Or download the firmware RUU from the link below and install it manually on your device.
